An existing 1930s footprint no longer functioned efficiently to serve the needs of this modern-day growing family. By relocating the basement's stairwell and reconfiguring the space, we greatly improved the kitchen's functionality, increasing much needed storage and allowing for a full-height, dedicated pantry. As a period home, it was important to design a space that honored its Tudor exterior, selecting a palette and materials that are classic and will stand the test of time.
In modernizing the kitchen, it was important to preserve the classic design elements that gave this home its unique character and charm. We worked hard to strike a balance between modern functionality and classic style.
